G-LAB-2B launches an initial pilot phase for people interested in contributing to specific projects on intercultural cooperation, crisis and conflict management, science communication and education
Following the approval of its 2026–2030 Volunteer Programme, G-LAB-2B is launching a structured collaboration programme for students, professionals and people with relevant knowledge or experience who would like to participate in applied research, communication, education and intercultural cooperation projects.
Volunteers will be incorporated gradually and will always be assigned a clearly defined role. The programme will help expand G-LAB-2B’s capacity to investigate how cooperation is built—or weakened—among individuals, groups, organisations and institutions in situations involving cultural differences, pressure, uncertainty, crisis or conflict.

Projects and areas of work
The first volunteers may contribute to several areas:
Applied research and case studies
Support with literature reviews, source documentation, timeline development, questionnaire preparation, material classification, contextual research, supervised descriptive analysis and the monitoring of case studies related to intercultural cooperation, crisis, conflict, migration, integration and collective decision-making.
Development of ECOOPx and the Sustainable Decision Finder
Collaboration in documenting, testing and transferring the ECOOPx research model and the Sustainable Decision Finder (SDF). Tasks may include usability testing, adapting materials, version management and preparing tools for use in university, social and organisational contexts.
Science communication and journalism
Transforming research and field-based learning into accessible, responsible and verifiable content. Tasks may include editing, fact-checking, website content, newsletters, social media, video production, subtitling, photographic archive management, translation, dossier preparation and support for the Thinking Without Handrails dialogue series.
Education and intercultural dialogue
Preparing materials, adapting activities, providing logistical support and co-facilitating workshops and learning spaces focused on communication, cooperation, diversity, crisis, conflict and peace. This area also includes support for courses offered through the G-LAB-2B Academy and for the ReACTivate educational project.
Partnerships, projects and cooperation
Identifying and mapping universities, associations, NGOs and other relevant stakeholders; researching funding opportunities; preparing meetings; following up on commitments; organising activities; and documenting agreements and joint projects. This may include a potential project with ADPP in Guinea-Bissau.
Profiles we are looking for
Research and case studies
People with backgrounds in social and/or political sciences, international relations, communication, law, education, sociology, anthropology or related fields. We also welcome knowledge of research methodology, user experience, data analysis, digital development or project management. Rigour, analytical skills and attention to detail will be particularly valued.
Science communication and content
People with experience or training in communication, journalism, science communication, design, audiovisual production, translation or languages, and the ability to communicate clearly, responsibly and with appropriate context.
Education and intercultural facilitation
People connected to education, mediation, social psychology, communication, social work, languages or community-based projects, with strong listening skills and experience or interest in group dynamics.
Partnerships, projects and cooperation
People with backgrounds in project management, international relations, development cooperation, administration, fundraising or the development of professional and institutional networks. Applicants do not need to fit perfectly into a single category. We also value interdisciplinary backgrounds, cultural and linguistic diversity, community experience and a willingness to learn.
A clearly defined and supported collaboration
Activities may be carried out remotely, in a hybrid format or in person, depending on the project. The expected commitment will generally be between two and six hours per week, during a previously agreed cycle, project or period. G-LAB-2B will provide introductory and project-specific training, ongoing guidance, regular follow-up, participation in project evaluation and formal documentation recognising the volunteer’s responsibilities, hours, training and skills developed.
