Learning to transform Crisis through Intercultural Cooperation

In an age marked by global crises, cultural divides and deep uncertainty, the need for intercultural cooperation has never been greater. G-Lab-2b Academy was born from this need and the fundamental question: How can cooperation emerge in an intercultural crisis and conflict environment?  We explore how societies and businesses can rethink communication, conflict, and change through intercultural cooperation. Our courses are rooted in real-world challenges and informed by deep research.

At the heart of the Academy is our ECOOPx course, a course that focuses on Intercultural cooperation and which introduces a practical model for building cooperation in times of crisis. Based on six key dimensions: Communication, Trust, Urgency, Organization, Shared Vision, and Resonance,  the ECOOPx approach helps participants navigate complex environments and research deep to achieve sustainable cooperation.

Building on that foundation, our course on Intercultural Crisis Management offers critical strategies to understand and transform tensions, power dynamics, and cultural misunderstandings that arise in today’s interconnected world.

Finally, our Transformational Change Management course equips learners with tools to lead systemic change, in organizations, communities, or institutions, by fostering innovation, inclusive leadership, and long-term vision.

Course:
Intercultural Cooperation | ECOOPx

Transform cultural differences into opportunities for lasting cooperation. This course introduces the ECOOPx model (Emerge Cooperation), developed by the Independent Applied Research Lab, G-Lab-2b, to strengthen intercultural cooperation and communication within diverse organizations or societies. In two compact and interactive sessions, participants will explore how to manage cultural diversity, facilitate effective intercultural dialogue, and turn challenges into opportunities for transformation.

The ECOOPx model provides a practical framework based on six key dimensions: Communication, Trust, Urgency, Organization, Shared Vision, and Resonance. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to apply the model in organizational settings, implement inclusive strategies, and develop cooperation-focused action plans.

Intercultural Crisis Management

In an increasingly globalized and multicultural world, crises do not occur in isolation. They unfold across cultural boundaries, affecting diverse communities, stakeholders, and institutions. Yet too often, crisis response strategies overlook a vital element: intercultural communication.
This course addresses that gap by combining crisis management with intercultural understanding. It is designed for professionals, educators, and leaders who operate in diverse environments and want to strengthen their ability to respond effectively and sensitively during moments of disruption.

Transformational Change

Transformational change goes beyond quick fixes, change is a constant and it reshapes culture, leadership, and long-term vision. This course equips professionals and organizations to lead deep, systemic change with a focus on inclusion, adaptability, and strategic awareness.

Participants will explore structural, cultural, and human factors that influence change, working with key models (Lewin, Kotter, Janssen) and tools to assess readiness, manage resistance, and design inclusive transformation strategies. Special attention is given to leadership, unconscious bias, innovation, and knowledge management.

Leonard Glab Frontera

Academic Director

Leonard Glab Frontera is a communications professional specialized in crisis management and intercultural mediation. His work focuses on preventing and managing crisis situations by building bridges between cultures, facilitating integration and collaboration in highly diverse environments. As founder of the G-Lab-2B think tank, he explores and researches discriminatory power dynamics and systems in crisis environments, with the aim of developing solutions that demonstrate how communication and language can have a positive impact on global and intercultural crises, intercultural conflict resolution, as well as migration and integration.

Leonard has obtained a diploma in Civil and Intercultural Mediation from the International School of Mediation ( EIM ) and is certified as an official mediator by the Spanish Ministry of Justice. In addition, he has postgraduate degrees in crisis management and conflict strategy from UNITAR, the United Nations University, and in Communication and Marketing from the UOC. In his career as a professor, he has taught in specialization courses, degrees and masters at various Spanish universities such as the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, EADA, EUBS and the UDG Foundation. He has also designed academic programs at university level and helps entrepreneurs through the "Diputació de Girona" and students of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, through the Hubbik R&I platform, in the creation of their own projects.
