Course description: Crisis Management and Intercultural Communication
This course provides a comprehensive understanding of crisis management through the lens of intercultural communication, integrating mediation and conflict resolution techniques. Participants will explore the five phases of crisis management, with each phase integrating essential intercultural communication strategies to effectively manage crises in culturally diverse contexts.
In an increasingly globalized and diverse world, the ability to manage crises with a thorough understanding of cross-cultural dynamics is more important than ever. Organizations face complex challenges that require advanced communication and conflict resolution skills to maintain cohesion and effectiveness. This course not only prepares participants for today’s crises, but also equips them with the competencies needed to meet future challenges in an ever-changing environment.

Leonard Glab Frontera
Academic Director
Leonard Glab Frontera is a communications professional specialized in crisis management and intercultural mediation. His work focuses on preventing and managing crisis situations by building bridges between cultures, facilitating integration and collaboration in highly diverse environments. As founder of the G-Lab-2B think tank, he explores and researches discriminatory power dynamics and systems in crisis environments, with the aim of developing solutions that demonstrate how communication and language can have a positive impact on global and intercultural crises, intercultural conflict resolution, as well as migration and integration.
Leonard has obtained a diploma in Civil and Intercultural Mediation from the International School of Mediation ( EIM ) and is certified as an official mediator by the Spanish Ministry of Justice. In addition, he has postgraduate degrees in crisis management and conflict strategy from UNITAR, the United Nations University, and in Communication and Marketing from the UOC. In his career as a professor, he has taught in specialization courses, degrees and masters at various Spanish universities such as the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, EADA, EUBS and the UDG Foundation. He has also designed academic programs at university level and helps entrepreneurs through the "Diputació de Girona" and students of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, through the Hubbik R&I platform, in the creation of their own projects.
